Key Stage 4 Drama
Drama is a very popular option at Key Stage 4. The course is divided into a number of options; for their coursework pupils study Improvisation, Acting, Costume, Devised Thematic, Lighting, Costume and Make-Up.
In addition, for the written paper, pupils study a set text such as ‘The Crucible’.
Regular visits to the theatre are organised in order for pupils to learn more about the theatre, gain influences for their own practical work and write a review of performance in the examination.
Examinations.
GCSE Drama is a highly successful subject; in 2004 and 2005, 100% of pupils gained A*- C in 2006 96% gained A*-C.
There is only one tier of entry for Drama, with all pupils sitting the same examination.
Performing Arts’ show.
This is annual event when GCSE Drama pieces which were previously viewed only by the teachers and examiners.
