2015 Exceptional Examination Results

Wade Deacon High School students are celebrating some excellent GCSE results today, surpassing expectations with 229 students achieving A*-C in English and Mathematics. The school is celebrating another year of exceptional examination results, with a red carpet reception for the Class of 2015.  Every student made progress and leaves the school ready for further education and exciting careers.

The commitment of students and staff resulted in 75% of students achieving the top grades A*-C in both English and Mathematics; with 82% in Mathematics and 85% in English reflecting stunning achievement.

A staggering 59% of students entered for the English Baccalaureate achieved this challenging academic standard. In addition, well over half of all students achieved the very top A* or A grades in at least one subject.

Amidst some outstanding individual achievements, most notable were the performance of six students who secured A* to A grades in every subject, including Danielle Mercer, Laura Farrell, Beth Eldridge and Tyla-Mae Matthews. The top 15 performers shared 145 A* and A grades between them.

Executive Principal, Lynne Fox, paid tribute to the commitment of her staff and students. She said “I am very proud of all our students and would like to congratulate them on their excellent examination results, especially at such a time of great change and turbulence in education. Their achievements have only been made possible through the support of parents, carers, governors and the directors of the academy. To see our students’ happy, smiling faces makes their hard work and that of all our staff so worthwhile ensuring our students are fully prepared for the next phase of their lives.”
