Guidance for Parents / Carers

in the Case of Bad Weather

It is our policy to keep the school open wherever possible. Please assume the school is open unless you hear otherwise. The Department for Education recognises the delivery of education to pupils as an essential service, as do we.

If we do have to close, parents/carers will be informed in the following ways:

• The school website: www.wadedeacon.co.uk
• By text message (for those who have signed up to receive texts from school)
• Via twitter: follow us @wadedeacon
• The information will be published on the Halton Borough Council website www.halton.gov.uk
• There may also be an announcement on local radio stations including Radio City (96.7 FM www.radiocity.co.uk) Real Radio (105.4 FM www.realradionorthwest.co.uk) and Smooth Radio (100.4 FM www.smoothradionorthwest.co.uk) 

This situation is highly unlikely and will be avoided wherever possible. There is no need to contact the school to check whether or not the school is open. Unless announced as above, we are open.
